Critical Cake

Kritik & Kuchen

We are overjoyed to invite you - colleagues from the independent scene and anyone else who is interested - to the second critical cake! This time on the Video-Audio-Walk "Enter Ghost" by Swoosh Lieu (that you can still check out for free and on your own time at Frankfurter Hauptfriedhof.)

You can look forward to this battle of pieces and cakes once again with Critique-Bingo, serious Voting, delicous cake and coffee.

RECAP The First Critical Cake
Stück: Gob Squad News from Beyond
Kuchen: Fog, Geist, Message

We presented an Earl Gray Cake, with Vanilla Rosemary Buttercream, Lime Curd and Lavender Cream Cheese Frosting. Decorated with a Shugar-Glass Divination Sphere and two Rosemary Springs that were put ablaze. The table decoration was completed with rice-paper Ghosts.

The battle between Cake and Piece was a close one. The piece was able to outmatch the cake in the category "Zugänglichkeit/Accessability", but still lost to the cake in the end. The cake had the biggest lead in terms of consistency, followed by arc of suspense.

We have to note that our voting system was criticized for not taking the different production lengths of cakes and pieces into account, but we will not be deterred in future cake - piece battles.

The three Bingo wins - props from the piece gifted to us by GobSquad - were graciously received by eager contestants and we had a wonderful critique talk about the piece, with very diverse experiences and thoughts.

As one would think with "News from Beyond" discussing the different experiences from the first and second show was very interesting.
